About Dr. Isaacs

Dr. Scott Isaacs is a board-certified endocrinologist and medical director of Intelligent Health Center.  He is clinical instructor of medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and president of the Georgia chapter of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (GA-AACE).

Dr. Isaacs graduated magna cum laude from Emory College where he published research on hormones and the brain. He went on to attend Emory School of Medicine completing a fellowship in endocrinology.

Dr. Isaacs published research performed at Grady Memorial Hospital and Atlanta Medical Center on obesity, stress and diabetes. He has published many articles in peer-reviewed medical journals, including the Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism , Diabetes Care and the Journal of Critical Care . His articles have been referenced and cited in hundreds of subsequent publications including a listing as a primary reference in the 2006 American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) and American Diabetes Association (ADA) Consensus Statement on Inpatient Diabetes and Glycemic Control . He gives many lectures on the subject of “Hormones and Obesity,” speaking to groups in the community and groups of physicians at major events and conferences throughout the United States.

Dr. Isaacs has been quoted in many national publications including Better Homes and Gardens, Redbook, Parents, Fitness, Men’s Health, Better Health and Living, Glamour, The Chicago Tribune, The Atlanta Journal Constitution, Atlanta Magazine, Florida International Magazine, First Health, Lifetime Magazine, Prevention, Women’s World, WebMD and many others. Dr. Isaacs has given expert commentary on many radio and television news programs including CNN Headline News and local NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox news affiliates. He has appeared as a weight loss expert on TBS Superstation’s Movie and Makeover. He is the author of the books, Hormonal Balance: Understanding Hormones, Weight and Your Metabolism (Bull Publishing, 2002, second ed. 2007) and A Simple Guide to Thyroid Disorders: From Diagnosis to Treatment (Addicus Books, 2003), Understanding Metabolic Syndrome (Addicus Books, 2005), and The Leptin Boost Diet (Ulysses Press, 2007).

Dr. Isaacs served as the local spokesperson for the “State of Diabetes in America.” Dr. Isaacs is the medical advisor for the Cushing’s Understanding Support and Help (CUSH) Organization. He serves on several national committees of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and has served as their spokesperson for several media campaigns.   Dr. Isaacs is a Diplomat of the American Board of Bariatric Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Endocrinology.  

Dr. Isaacs enjoys fishing, jogging, hiking, biking and spending time with his beautiful wife and daughter.
